"Had the misfortune of one of this agency's auto policy customers backing into our car in a parking lot fender bender. The sort of incident that most insurance companies quickly settle. Not State Farm. Their Arizona claim center has been evasive and totally unhelpful. After many calls to both their claim center and the agent, they finally assigned a real claims agent and mostly accepted liability still leaving us stuck with several hundred dollars out of pocket costs. This is not the first bad experience I've had with State Farm claim handling. If you purchase a State Farm policy and are liable in an accident, be aware that their approach to claims management will enrage the other party and greatly increase your risk of being sued. I don't know if they are any better at settling claims from their own policy holders or not."

After experiencing a minor fender-bender, I decided to file a claim, mostly because the person who hit me made it very clear that they were going to and I was concerned that a failure to file a claim would be seen as a tacit admission of guilt.
